Female:

The female gonad (the ovary or 'egg sac') is one of the reproductive glands in a woman. The gonad is located in the pelvis, on each side of the uterus. It produces the hormone estrogen.

 

Male:

The male gonad is the testes. It makes gametes and is one of the reproductive glands in a man. It produces the hormone sperm, androgens and testosterone.
