Pituitary gland hormones and their functions
The pituitary gland releases the hormones Adrenocorticotrophic, Thyroid-stimulating, Luteinising, Follicle-stimulating, Prolactin, Growth hormone and the Melanocyte-stimulating hormone.

Adrenocorticotrophic hormone= The Adrenocorticotrophic hormones main fuction is to stimulate the production and release of cortisol from the adrenal gland.

Thyroid-stimulating hormone= The Thyroid-stimulating hormones fuction is to control the making of the two hormones ( triiodothyronine & thyroxine ) in the thyroid gland.

Luteinising hormone= The Luteinising hormones function is to trigger ovulation and development of the corpus luteum in woman. In men, it stimulates the Leydig cell production of testosterone.

Follicle-stimulating hormone= The Follicle-stimulating is oneof the hormones most essential to the function of womens ovaries and mens testes.

Prolactin gland= The prolactin gland is involved in stimulating the mammary glands to produce milk.during pregnancy.

Growth hormone= The Growth hormone participates in regulating the bodies motabolism. It targets cell cells to reduce the amount of stored fat.

Melanocyte-stimulating hormone= The Melanocyte-stimulating hormone function is to stimulate the production and release of melanin
