The nervous system consists of two main parts: The central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system is made up of the brain and spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system is made up of the nerve fibres that branch off from the spinal cord and goes to all parts of the body. The brain sends the message through the spinal cord and nerves of the peripheral nervous system to control movement of muscles.
